Amy,

Aha! I know that you are pretty tough cookie!

Hmm, I am not fully sure about someone's correspondence within the public eye like the AGBell and NBC-TV network have to obtain the formal permission for public release.

I will look up attached link (Gallaudet)later.

Don't worry, RLM I have a sense of humor. I didn't mean to slight you or anyone else who acknowledged my blog. It was today that I got two blogs talking about the infamous telegram from AG Bell to NBC in 1966.

I appreciate your amazing contributions to the community, RLM and as long we all are able to respect each others' perspectives along with our agreements/disagreements. It is the matter of person's opinion, and it does not necessarily mean we cannot get along.

Warmest,
Amy

Amy,

You neither give me any credit for bringing more footpaths to your blog postings whenever you post. :)

I hope that you did have a good sense of humor when I satirized you as a secret representative for the Hands and Voice as part of Happy April's Fool Day 2009! :)

Unforunately, I did not able to copy and paste the link to your blog postings for past few weeks. :)

Hi Thinking,

You may want to ask SLS for their permission for you to make copies and distribute for 'free'. This work is copyrighted and Jean Lindquist Bergey worked very, very hard with this paper. I ordered a copy from Gallaudet University and the money I spent go to SLS to create more academic journals.

That's why I offered the link.

I live near an university library which subscribes to SLS.

Should I offer to make and mail copies to persons who are truly interested and would use the copies only for personal use?

Article doesn't seem to be available for purchase.

Amy, you have a serious point there about AGBell being ahead of the game in organizing a symposium on cognitive development through oral-aural means.

It may be in response to our saying that intellectual development is hindered by excessive emphasis on speech and listening training.

Still, we need to explore how signed visual communication aids (or hinders??) intellectual, cognitive, social and emotional development. It may only be adding fuel to the wars, but it bears examination.
