My FIRST Vlog! How Amateurish…

Here’s my first vlog I created with encouragement from Tayler Mayer of DeafRead.com. I sent email to Tayler and Jared my compliments about their website and how impressed I was with their creation that helped to inform and empower Deaf Community!

Tayler asked me if I could do the vlog about my compliments and thoughts of DeafRead.com I was surprised that he asked me, and I went for the challenge!

I emailed him asking him… how??

“Tayler — I am so compelled to vlog my accolades and praise to your creation (DeafRead.com)… and how can I vlog???

Please can you vlog a small instruction online how to ‘vlog’, upload, etc in ASL??? I am itching to do it!

I have webcam, and what should I do??”

Tayler replied with written instructions (What?? Not in ASL? Grrr..), which was fairly easy to follow. I went ahead to start up my Logitech’s video capture software with my teeny weensy Logitech webcam for Notebooks. I watched myself on the computer screen how I signed, and I didn’t realize that I signed so SLLLOOOWWW after I saved this. Then I used Microsoft Movie Maker program to do some editing.

Never I realize how complicated it can be…

After hours of trial and error editing this friggin’ vlog. I felt good. I played this and saw myself signing SLOW as heck.

How embarrassing!

Sent another email to Tayler, asking him what should I do next, and he said, “Go to YouTube and upload this.” Thanks, Tayler…

I visited YouTube.com and followed the instructions. I registered, signed up and uploaded my vlog. It took YouTube several minutes to process this vlog, then viola, I am been broadcasted!

Thinking… “Oh gosh, I am one of the YouTube lemmings…”

Here’s my very first amateurish-looking vlog, Enjoy!

Hey, I am planning on creating another vlog about DeafRead.com for the contest. Watch out!

I agree with you, deafread.com is awesome. I’m not good at reading blogs, but with vlogs I’m hooked, and feel like I’m in the Deaf community, even though I’m in Australia! :)

I was curious about your first vlog, and found it in here… thank you so much for all your contributions, they are thought provoking and helps us to be aware of serious issues that need to be addressed.

Keep up the good job too, Amy :)
